Maries village Thassos: Built during the Middle Ages, Maries is one of the oldest and most beautiful villages of Thassos. Standing on a gorge in the central-western part of Thassos, at a high altitude, Maries offers a superb panoramic view. It lies 42 km south west of Limenas Thassos. The houses of the village have been built close to each. The beach pitches quite steeply into the water, but is protected from strong currents and fine for non-swimmers who just want to bathe.
